FERRUM - Ferrum College has hired Jenn Leahy as its new assistant women's lacrosse coach, college athletic officials confirmed in a prepared statement Thursday.

Leahy comes to Ferrum from the University of Tampa (Florida) where she recently received her master's in exercise and nutrition science.

Leahy is a graduate of Berry (Georgia) College where she competed in women's lacrosse for four years and earned a bachelor's in exercise science in 2018.

Leahy was a three-time Southern Athletic Association (SAA) All-Academic team selection while at Berry.  She helped lead Berry to its first appearance in the conference's tournament championship match in 2017.

Leahy, who began her job with the Panthers earlier this month, has coached a club lacrosse team for two years before joining Ferrum's coaching staff .

For the past five years, Leahy has been a personal trainer and strength and conditioning coach.
