Christian Heritage Academy swept Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy in a varsity/middle school volleyball doubleheader at home Tuesday.

Both squads are led by head coach Christy Williams. Kristen Meade serves as Williams' assistant.

The Knights' varsity squad won 3-1; the middle school club was a 2-0 victor.

CHA's varsity team is 2-3 with wins over SMLCA and King's Christian Academy. Its losses are to Carlisle, United Christian Academy and Westover Christian Academy.

In the match against the Ospreys, Savannah Novak served nine aces and netted 11 kills to paced the Knights.

Kaitlyn Jensen served seven aces and Hannah Powell totaled eight kills.

Also, Emilyann Jones "made a big impact with her overall play,'' Williams said.

Other varsity players are Faye Atkins, Evie Gordon, Catie Robinson, Stephanie Gonzales and LeeAnn Smith.

CHA's middle school team is 3-1 with wins over SMLCA, Westover Christian Academy and King's Christian Academy;its only setback is to Carlisle.

Evie Novak served seven aces and tallied three kills in the triumph over the Ospreys.

CHA returns to action Monday at home against Faith Christian Academy of Hurt.
