Six players accounted for 35 service aces Monday night as Christian Heritage Academy’s (CHA) varsity volleyball team bested Faith Christian Academy of Hurt, 3-1, in a Virginia Association of Christian Athletics (VACA) match at home.
The Knights (3-3), who squared their record with the win, rallied from a first-set loss to close out the match in four sets.
Set scores were 23-25. 25-10, 25-11, 25-12.
In its second-set win, CHA netted nine of the first 10 points.
In the fourth set, CHA, leading 15-11, finished with a 10-1 scoring surge.
CHA is led by head coach Christy Williams, who is in her third year at the helm.
Savannah Novak led the Knights with 13 aces and five kills, while EmilyAnn Jones served 12 aces and totaled three kills.
Also, Faye Atkins served six aces, Hannah Powell served three aces and Evie Gordon, and Kaitlyn Jenson each served one ace.
The Knights return to action Thursday at home against Westover Christian Academy of Danville.
Westover defeated CHA earlier this season.
A scheduled doubleheader begins at 5 p.m. with a middle school match, followed by the varsity contest at 6 p.m.
