GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL LACROSSE: Franklin County falls to Salem, Cosby in consecutive road matches

SALEM — Paced by the play of four multiple-goal scorers, Salem defeated Franklin County 17-5 in a girls varsity lacrosse match Thursday.

Hope Wimmer netted a match-best five goals for the Spartans, while Madi Caldwell and Alla Daniel each tallied four goals and Ellyn Anama scored three goals.

Also scoring was Kayla Lainez with one goal.

Caldwell distributed five assists and Winnner passed out one.

Emma Barber netted three goals to lead FCHS, while Tyler Harvey and Isabelle Davis each scored one goal.

Barber and Holland Foutz each passed out an assist.

Salem goalkeeper Brynn Bowen collected 11 saves.

FCHS goalkeeper Beatrice Bradner registered six saves.

On Saturday, the Eagles suffered their third straight loss, 20-7 to Class 6 Region B rival Cosby.

The Eagles are 3-5.
