Starting Nov. 1, Franklin County native and independent filmmaker Derek Young begins principal photography on his fifth full-length feature horror film “The Wright Family.”

The cast and crew will be at Bassett High School in Basset on Nov. 2 from noon to 8 p.m. and are in need of extras, including adults who could pass for teenagers to play students and those who could play parents.

Investors also are needed, as well as people to help with filming from Nov. 22 through 24. Johnny Alonso, also known as Joey D from One Tree Hill, award-winning filmmaker and actress Connie Lamothe, actor Bill St. August and actor/director Marc Goodman all have joined the film and will be at the high school Nov. 2.

The film’s plot centers around a perfect, all-American family with a father, who works as a local car dealer and serves the town as mayor, and a mother, who is involved in women’s equality. All is well until people start disappearing from the town.
