AFJROTC cadets

Seven cadets from Franklin County High School’s Air Force JROTC program successfully completed the 19th annual Mountaineer Cadet Officer Leadership School from June 17 through 22. The program was held at Concord University in Athens, West Virginia. This year, MCOLS graduated more than 245 cadets from several high schools located along the East Coast and as far away as South Dakota. Cadets are invited to attend because of their demonstrated desire and potential to be leaders. The MCOLS environment resembles a boot camp tone and tempo, takes cadets out of their comfort zone and places them in a simulated military environment. Participants included retired Master Sgt. Selina Hamblin (from left, back row), cadets Timothy Keeler, Kenna Grimes, Zavier Winston, Kayden Parkinson, Weston Dobbins, William Shelton (left, front row) and Felipe Aguilar.
