Hub, Franklin restaurants win 'Best' contests

The Hub Restaurant in Rocky Mount was the winner of the Best Burger in Franklin County 2012 contest. Tom Gourley, far left, presents a plaque to Hub Tammy Harrell (owner). Gourley represents the Retail Merchants Association, the contest sponsor. In the back are, from left, Hub employees Karen Reynolds, Lou Hall, Mary Mayo, Tracy Martin, Terry Harrell (owner) and Ricky Harrell (owner). Kaye Perdue, owner of Franklin Restaurant, accepts a plaque for her restaurant winning the Best Specialty Food in Franklin County 2012 contest. Perdue said the coleslaw is the specialty food at the restaurant. The plaque is presented by Tom Gourley with the Retail Merchants Association, the contest sponsor.
