Equipment Operator I – Franklin County Landfill
Franklin County is currently accepting applications for the FT position of an Equipment Operator I in the Solid Waste Division of the County. Performs responsible skilled work in the operation of motorized equipment. Primary duty is operation of heavy equipment in the landfill. Must possess and maintain a valid Virginia Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with a Tanker Endorsement that is acceptable to County Insurance Carrier & possess any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from High School. Ferrum College has an immediate opening for Farm Manager to work 19 hours per week at our Titmus Agricultural Center. The successful applicant will oversee the operations of the Ferrum College farm in support of students and faculty in the Agricultural Sciences program
Minimum qualifications are a Bachelor’s degree in agricultural sciences or related field and practical experience in farm management. Applicant should have the ability to work well with a variety of people, be self-motivated, disciplined and well organized, and work a flexible schedule. Commercial driver’s license and herbicide/pesticide applicator’s license would be preferred.
