Two men pleaded guilty Tuesday in Franklin County Circuit Court to drug charges involving conspiracy and illegal distribution of prescription painkillers.
Bobby Joe Hood, 53, of Rocky Mount pleaded guilty to distribution of oxycodone and conspiracy to distribute the narcotic.
Bradley Shively, 35, of Martinsville pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute oxycodone.
Franklin County Commonwealth's Attorney Tim Allen said a confidential informant contacted Shively in January about buying some oxycodone. Shively then sent Hood to sell oxycodone pills to the informant, Allen said.
The drug transaction was made in the parking lot of a convenience store in Franklin County on Jan. 24.
Hood sold three oxycodone pills to the informant for $120, Allen said.
A sentencing hearing for Hood is set for Oct. 20. Shively's hearing is Oct. 27 in circuit court.
The illegal distribution of oxycodone and conspiracy to distribute oxycodone each carries a maximum prison sentence of 40 years.
