Franklin County's Cutest Baby Contest is back with a twist this year, said Amy Pendleton, executive director of the Franklin County Perinatal Education Center (FCPEC).

Sponsored by FCPEC, this year's contest will feature the county's cutest babies and mothers in a 2015 calendar. The calendar is a fundraiser to help support the center.

"This year's calendar theme is 'mother and baby'," said Pendleton.

The top 12 mother/baby photographs will be selected to have professional photos taken for the calendar.

All other entries will appear in a photo collage on the back of the calendar.

Babies entered in the contest should be between the ages of newborn to 18 months at the time of entry.

Entries are due Friday, Aug. 29 by 5 p.m. and require a $25 application fee, as well as a photo of the mother and baby.

The photo will be returned after the contest by enclosing a self-addressed, stamped envelope with the entry.

"The cutest baby calendar is an important fundraiser for the FCPEC," said Pendleton. "Proceeds from entry fees, sponsorships and calendar sales allow us to help more families."

The FCPEC is a non-profit organization that provides childbirth and reproductive health programs in Franklin, Patrick and Henry counties. The center also provides free child safety seats and infant-care products.

For a list of rules and entry forms, visit www.fcpec.org or contact Pendleton at (540) 489-1800.
