The Town of Rocky Mount collected $603,588 in meals tax during the first six months of this year, according to the finance department's July report.
That's down slightly from the $604,667 collected in the first six months of 2013.
In June, meals tax collections totaled $111,723, up from $105,948 collected in June 2013.
The town's meals tax continues to be the largest revenue producer for the town.
The finance department also reported that sales tax collections for the first six months of this year totaled $77,180, down from the $83,208 collected during the first six months of 2013.
The largest monthly amount of sales tax collections this year was $13,976 in March. The lowest amount was $11,061 in April.
