Construction in Franklin County decreased in May, based on the number of building permits issued and the value of those permits, according to the Franklin County Building Inspections Department.
Seventy-seven building permits were issued last month, down from the 128 permits that were issued in May 2013.
The value of all building permits issued in May totaled $4,537,870, down from the total value of building permits issued in May 2013, which was $4,870,882.
Seven building permits were issued last month for new residential homes with a value of $1,852,000.
Manufactured home permits (single and doublewide homes) totaled 10 in May, and permits issued for additions, alterations and accessory buildings totaled 65.
A total of 529 inspections were conducted last month, and inspectors drove 6,884 miles to conduct those inspections.
Fees collected from all permits issued in May totaled $22,462.
