A Penhook woman died after the vehicle she was driving pulled into the path of another vehicle on Callaway Road Friday afternoon.
Amy Jung Lawrence, 33, was traveling west in a 2007 Chevrolet Malibu when she failed to yield the right-of-way at a stop sign and pulled into the path of a 2006 Hyundai traveling north on Callaway Road, according to Sgt. Rob Carpentieri with the Virginia State Police.
Lawrence was transported to Carilion Roanoke Memorial, where she died a short time later, Carpentieri said. She was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
Nancy Furrow, 51, of Boones Mill, the driver of the Hyundai, has not been charged in connection with the crash, Carpentieri said.
The crash occured on Route 641 (Callaway Road) at its intersection with Route 731 about 2:45 p.m. Friday.
