Construction in Franklin County decreased in April, based on the number of building permits issued and the value of those permits, according to the Franklin County Building Inspections Department.
Eighty-five building permits were issued in April, down from 117 permits that were issued in April 2013.
The value of all building permits issued in April totaled $5,895,994, up from $3,821,462 in April 2013.
A total of 13 building permits were issued in April for new residential homes with a total value of $3,660,045.
Manufactured home permits (single and doublewide homes) totaled three in April, and building permits issued for additions and alterations and accessory buildings totaled 37.
A total of 611 inspections were conducted, and fees collected from all permits issued in April totaled $27,212.
Inspectors drove 7,985 miles to conduct construction inspections.
