A Rocky Mount man will serve one year of a five-year prison sentence for selling heroin.
Richard Lee Isner III, 29, pleaded guilty to one count of heroin distribution in February.
Isner was also sentenced last week to three years probation and ordered to be of good behavior for seven years.
He was also ordered to pay $120 in restitution to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office for money used to purchase the heroin. His driver's license was also revoked for six months.
In October 2012, Isner sold four packets of heroin during a controlled buy, arranged by the sheriff's office, according to Franklin County Commonwealth's Attorney Tim Allen.
After Isner was contacted about buying heroin, he traveled to Roanoke with the caller to obtain the heroin.
When the two men returned to Franklin County with the drug, Isner sold the heroin to the caller for $120, Allen said.
