County schools to close on Memorial Day

Monday, May 12, 2014

By STACEY HAIRSTON - Staff Writer

Franklin County students will get a break from their classes on Monday, May 26.

The Memorial Day holiday break was up in the air this year because of the number of school days missed due to inclement weather.

"I am pleased to report this good news," said Superintendent Mark Church. "I feel comfortable enough to reinstate Memorial Day as an out-of-school holiday."

The final day of the school year for students will be Wednesday, May 28.

Thursday, May 29 and Friday, May 30 will be staff workdays.

Franklin County High School graduation is set for Saturday, May 31.
