A Rocky Mount man faces up to 40 years in prison after pleading guilty Monday to illegally selling prescription drugs.
Walter Bruce Dudley, 27, also faces up to two years in jail for selling stolen items and failing to appear in court.
Two additional charges of distribution of cocaine and petit larceny were dismissed as part of a plea agreement, according to prosecutor Dwight Rudd.
The drug charge is the result of a controlled purchase, arranged by the Franklin County Sheriff's Office on May 17, 2013, Rudd said. Dudley sold eight oxycodone pills for $320 in the parking lot of a Rocky Mount convenience store.
On July 18, 2013, Dudley sold several stolen metal desks to a scrap company for $68, Rudd said. The dismissed petit larceny charge was also related to this incident.
A sentencing hearing for Dudley is set for May 15 in Franklin County Circuit Court.
