The tenth annual Black History Month program will take place Saturday, Feb. 22 at the Rocky Mount Walmart from noon to 2 p.m.
The program, organized by store associates Velma Witcher and Sarah O'Neal, will feature performances by area gospel groups and messages from several speakers.
The guest speaker will be Dr. Veronica Gwynn of First Baptist Church in Rocky Mount.
Some of the singers scheduled to perform include Family Five of Bassett, The Appointed Messengers of Christ from Rocky Mount, and the Sandy Hill Choir from Sandy Level.
The Mitchell Family and the Voice of Hope, both of Rocky Mount, will also perform.
Miss Pigg River 2013 Amiya Saunders will speak near the end of the program.
Last year, over 200 spectators came out to celebrate Black History Month.
"We thank everyone who has participated in this program, making it a huge success over the years," said Witcher.
The program is free and will be located in the produce section inside Walmart.
Refreshments will be served after the program.
