A Rocky Mount man has been indicted on three charges of selling crack cocaine.
Daniel Raynard Horne Jr., 25, is also charged with one count of distributing marijuana, according to Sgt. Lyle with the Franklin County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit.
The charges stem from controlled drug buys, arranged by the sheriff's office, on Aug. 22, 2013, Aug. 28, 2013, Sept. 19, 2013 and Nov. 12, 2013, Lyle said.
Horne was indicted by a grand jury earlier this month, but the indictments were sealed by the court until Horne was arrested.
No court date has been set.
Distribution of cocaine is an unclassified felony, punishable by five to 40 years in prison and a fine of up to $500,000.
Distribution of marijuana is a Class 5 felony, punishable by one to 10 years in prison or 12 months in jail and a $2,500 fine.
An indictment is not a finding of guilt. It is a determination by jurors that enough evidence exists to warrant a trial.
