Drug distribution, forgery and theft among indictments

Drug distribution, forgery and theft were among the indictments returned Monday by a Franklin County Grand Jury.

An indictment is not a finding of guilt, but it is a determination by jurors that enough evidence exists to warrant a trial.

Indictments returned by the grand jury:

•Rebecca Elizabeth Barnwell, forge a check with the intent to defraud, July 28; and utter a forged check with the intent to defraud, July 28.

•Richard James Cameron, possess a firearm after having been previously convicted of a non-violent felony within the past 10 years, Nov. 6.

•Stephen Vance Chitwood, break and enter a dwelling house with the intent to commit larceny, Sept. 15.

•Michael Lee Divers, make and communicate to a deputy a threat to bomb, burn, destroy or damage a place of assembly, building or other structure or a means of transportation, Sept. 15; assault and batter another person, Sept. 15; and commit an act of disorderly conduct in a public building (Magistrate Office) with the intent to cause public inconvenience, annoyance or alarm, or recklessly creating a risk thereof by engaging in conduct having a direct tendency to cause acts of violence by the person or persons at whom such conduct was conducted, Sept. 15.

•Jeffery Lee Doubt, take, steal and carry away goods and chattels having a value in excess of $200, Nov. 4; break and enter a dwelling house with the intent to commit larceny, Nov. 4; and take, steal and carry away firearms, Nov. 4.

•Michael Joseph Hall, being 18 years of age or older, did with lascivious intent sexually abuse a child under the age of 18 while maintaining a custodial or supervisory relationship over said child, June 1.

•Reginald William Hancock, obtain money under false pretense having a value in excess of $200, Aug. 13; take, steal and carry away goods and chattels having a value in excess of $200, Aug. 13; and break and enter a dwelling house with the intent to commit larceny, Aug. 13.

•Benjamin Brewster Hodges, possess a firearm after having been convicted of a felony, July 2; receive a stolen firearm from another person or aid in concealing a firearm knowing that the firearm was stolen, July 2.

•Erica Fae Hodges, take, steal and carry away goods and chattels having a value in excess of $200, Aug. 13; and obtain money under false pretense having a value in excess of $200, Aug. 13.

•Kaylah Rose Kent, take, steal and carry away firearms, Nov. 4; break and enter a dwelling house with the intent to commit larceny, Nov. 4; and take, steal and carry away goods and chattels having a value in excess of $200, Nov. 4.

•Robert Andrew Lumsden, take, steal and carry away goods and chattels having a value in excess of $200, May 5.

•Mark Christopher Maxey, two counts, with the intent to maim, disfigure, disable or kill, cause bodily injury to another person, Sept. 4.

•Derrick Eugene Maxie, possess a firearm after having been convicted of a non-violent felony within the last 10 years, Nov. 2.

•Timothy Allan Pollack, drive or operate a motor vehicle without a certified ignition interlock system, Sept. 7; drive or operate a motor vehicle during the time for which the accused was deprived of the right to do so regardless of the terms of a restricted license when the blood alcohol level of the accused indicated by a chemical test administers was 0.02 percent or more, Sept. 7; operate a motor vehicle while having a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or more by weight by volume or 0.08 grams or more per 210 liters of breath; or while under the influence of alcohol; or while under the influence of a narcotic drug or other self-administered intoxicant or drug, or a combination of drugs, to a degree which impaired the accused's ability to drive or operate motor vehicle safely, having been convicted previously on two or more occasions within the last five years, Sept. 7.

•John Michael Smarz, fail to appear in Franklin County Circuit Court while charged with a felony, Sept. 19.

•Dallas J. Smithers, take, steal and carry away goods and chattels having a value of less than $200 after having been convicted two or more times of larceny, Oct. 18.

•Brandon Jermaine Wright, two counts of distribute cocaine after having been convicted two of the same or similar offenses, Dec. 20 and Dec. 27, 2012.

•Eugene Easley, possess cocaine, July 9.

•Caben John Trent, conceal goods or merchandise of a store with the intent of converting goods or merchandise to his use, Oct. 18.
