A Rocky Mount man faces up to 80 years in prison after pleading guilty last week in Franklin County Circuit Court to two charges of distribution of crack cocaine.
A third distribution charge against Sidrick Lamar Wright, 24, was dismissed through a plea agreement.
Prosecutor Robert Deatherage said that the charges against Wright were the result of controlled drug buys arranged by the Franklin County Sheriff's Office.
The first purchase was made on Dec. 15, 2012, at a dumpster site on U.S. 220 North. The second buy was made on April 5 on Windy Lane in Rocky Mount.
The plea agreement requires that Wright pay $150 restitution to the sheriff's office for the money used to purchase the cocaine.
Each distribution charge carries a minimum five-year sentence.
Wright's bond was revoked, and he will remain in jail until his sentencing hearing on Jan. 15, 2014 at 4 p.m. in circuit court.
