A Figsboro man and a Henry woman were arrested Monday in connection with a March home invasion, which left the female resident badly beaten.
John Robert Arrington Jr., 43, is charged with malicious wounding and breaking and entering while armed with a deadly weapon, according to Investigator Jay Mason with the Franklin County Sheriff's Office.
Christina R. Roudabush, 30, is charged with breaking and entering and petit larceny, Mason said.
Arrington and Roudabush, both acquaintances of the 59-year-old victim, allegedly broke into her home on Philpott Road in Henry on March 21, looking for prescription narcotics, Mason said.
The victim was asleep around 6:30 a.m. when someone began assaulting her with a wooden club, Mason said.
When her attacker left, she was able to call 911 and ask for help, Mason said.
The victim, who suffered serious head injuries and broken bones, was airlifted to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Mason said.
During the investigation, an additional petit larceny charge was filed against Arrington.
Arrington is being held in the Western Virginia Regional Jail without bond, while Roudabush was released on a $500 bond.
