Local author Cheryl O'Brien has recently published the newest title in a series of books called "Katie's Journey."
The series consists of five books depicting the love connection between Patrick Cleary and Katie Bennett.
Each book in the series weaves around familiar characters, while introducing new ones along the way.
The series consists of "A New Beginning," "Partnerships in the Storm," "The Hero Among Us," "Love and Honor" and "Discovery of Truth."
O'Brien suggests that the books be read in chronological order to get the full effect of the love story.
"I love the positive aspects of life," said O'Brien. "I believe in honor and integrity and doing the right thing, even when no one is looking."
O'Brien has also written "Kelly - Indian Adventure," which tells the story of best friends whose lives parallel in different ways. One friend is in love with an Indian, while the other is in love with a Cavalry officer. The book shows how the friends are more connected to each other than either of them imagined.
A resident of Redwood, O'Brien was raised in Massachusetts and moved to Franklin County in 2004.
O'Brien is a 1972 graduate of Millbury Memorial High School in Massachusetts. She has five children, eight grandchildren and is currently a teller at Carter Bank and Trust in Rocky Mount.
She is also a member of Faith Fellowship Church in Wirtz.
"I have been writing for years," said O'Brien. "Writing is my passion, but my belief in Jesus is my greatest love."
O'Brien's books are self-published by createspace.com and can be purchased from Amazon.com. They are also available in eBook format for the Amazon Kindle.
"I hope people will enjoy my books and pass them on to their friends," said O'Brien.
O'Brien said she welcomes feedback from her readers, and can be contacted by email at Djluckyo@aol.com.
