Jessica Grace Jones and Yancy deWare Moran were united in marriage on May 18 at 4:30 p.m. at The Water's Edge Country Club. The service of holy matrimony was officiated by Rev. Jonathan Hilliard and Rev. David Long. A reception was held following the ceremony at the Water's Edge.

The bride is the daughter of David and Serena Jones of Penhook. She is the granddaughter of the late Ernest and Grace Fralin, and the late John and Dorothy Jones. Yancy is the son of Mr. Kenny Moran of Gretna and Mrs. Angie Hodnett of Rustburg. He is the grandson of Fran Mattox Moran, the late Carl O. Moran, D. Frank Ingram and the late Mary Nella Smith Ingram.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. She wore an ivory Mori Lee by Madeline Gardner gown. The mermaid style dress featured alecon lace, a sweetheart neckline, and removable lace keyhole coverlet. She wore her maternal grandmother's pearls. Jessica's hand tied bouquet of roses was encased with alecon lace from her mother's wedding gown. She carried a linen handkerchief from the groom's maternal grandmother. The attendants wore canary yellow cocktail dresses by Bill Levkoff.

Robbie Catherine Jones of Wirtz and Marybeth Ellen Jones of Penhook, Virginia, sisters of the bride, served as maids of honor. Daphne Tilley of Henry, friend of the bride, served as matron of honor. Carly Hodnett of Baltimore, Md., and McKenzie Moran of Starksville, Miss., half-sisters of the groom, Sarah Gillum of Odenton, Md., Treva Motley and Brianna Gallatin of Rocky Mount, friends of the bride, served as bridesmaids. Erin Willie of Staunton, friend of the bride, was the flower girl.

Kevin Elder of Forest, friend of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Kenny Moran of Gretna, father of the groom, Rick Hodnett of Rustburg, stepfather of the groom, Donnie Hart, Joey Hart, and Kean Marks of Lynchburg, friends of the groom, Kurt Reighard of Forest, friend of the groom, and Tim Geissler of Charlotte, N.C., friend of the groom. Master Will Calohan of Central Valley, N.Y., grandson of Mrs. Denise Moran of Gretna, was the ring bearer.

Harpist Jeff Hall of Rocky Mount provided the music for the service. Wayne Reich Trio of Greensboro, N.C., entertained guests during the cocktail hour. Photography was by Jason and JoAnna Jarvis of Lynchburg. Celeste Derey Brogdon of Raleigh, N.C., cousin of the bride, was consultant and director of the wedding. Keith Motley of Gretna assisted her.

The bride is a graduate of Franklin County High School, Roanoke Valley Governor's School, University of Virginia, and Virginia Commonwealth University/ Medical College of Virginia. Dr. Moran is a physical therapist employed by Rehab Associates of Central Virginia. She is the site manager of the Brookneal clinic. The groom is a graduate of Brookville High School and Elon College. He is employed with Colbert Moran Funeral Home in Gretna.

Following their honeymoon to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, the couple resides in Gretna. Jessica and Yancy express thanks to everyone who made the celebration of their marriage special and memorable.
