SML Expo set for April 26

More than 120 businesses and vendors are expected to be on hand of Friday, April 26 to promote their products when the 10th annual Smith Mountain Lake Expo gets under way in Downtown Moneta.

The expo will run from noon to 5 p.m.

The event will take place under four big-top tents across from Mayberry Hills.

The expo is sponsored by the Smith Mountain Lake Chamber of Commerce.

The one-day event gives businesses in the lake area exposure to residents in the region, as well as other businesses with which they can network.

The participating business will be from Franklin, Bedford, Pittsylvania and other surrounding counties.

Last year, more than 3,000 people attended the expo.

Throughout the day, there will be drawings for prizes donated by businesses affiliated with the chamber.

Also at the expo will be "Your Business Connection," a service connecting job seekers with employers.

Small business startup information also will be available. Representatives from the Virginia Employment Commission, Small Business Development Center, Longwood and SCORE will be available to assist business owners, job seekers and new business startups.
