The Callaway Ruritan Club is sponsoring a community cleanup day on Saturday, April 6 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The event will begin at 10 a.m. with a safety briefing, according to Ruritan club member Bruce Bailey.
Trash bags and safety vests will be provided, and groups will be assigned to a one-mile section of roadway for cleanup. The goal is to remove litter from 10 miles of roadway to beautify the Callaway community.
Groups will meet from 10 to 10:30 a.m. in the grassy lot in front of A&A Market for the briefing.
Lunch will be provided by the Ruritan club when the cleanup is finished at 12:30 p.m.
Participating in the community cleanup are the Callaway Elementary PTO, Cub Scout Pack 369, Callaway Fire and Rescue, Callaway Elementary School, Girl Scouts, Green Thumb Garden Club an Piedmont Presbyterian Church.
