The Pigg River Bridge on South Main Street is now open.
Earlier this week, town officials said the winter weather last weekend was likely to delay the reopening of the road, but road crews finished the repairs earlier than projected, according to Matt Hankins, assistant town manager.
A water main break closed the bridge last week when the water caused a significant amount of erosion where the bridge is under construction.
Cecil Mason, public works director, said the cause of the break in the water main cannot be determined, but water mains are made of cast iron and sometimes with age, they break.
