| Ferrum gets win No. 6, whips Piedmont 20-7 |

FERRUM -- Propelled by hat tricks (three goals scores) by Andrew Senft, Kyle Downey and Alex Rice, Ferrum College stopped a two-match losing streak with a 20-7 men's lacrosse victory over Piedmont (Ga.) College Saturday at W.B. Adams Stadium.
With the win, the Panthers (6-4) have matched their victory total (6) for each of their first two seasons of intercollegiate play in the sport.
Ferrum scored four unanswered goals to erase a 1-0 deficit, and was ahead 9-3 at halftime and 15-6 after three quarters.
Also scoring for the Panthers were Tyler Poage, Tyler Parise and Patrick Cathro each with one goal.
For Piedmont (5-5) Taylor Carter finished with three goals and Spencer Otis tallied two.
Mack Baker played all 60 minutes in net for Piedmont and registered 19 saves.
Damian Pulos recorded seven saves in goal for the Panthers. He logged 51:34 minutes.
Chad Vasos played the final 8:26 in goal and collected two saves.
Ferrum returns to action Tuesday at home against Otterbein College.
Faceoff is 3:30 p.m. at Adams Stadium.
