| Franklin County to host Battle of the Bases |

Franklin County's varsity softball team will host the fourth annual Battle of the Bases at the Benjamin Franklin Middle School softball complex today and Saturday.
Seventeen games are scheduled over two days.
These games will be contested on the complex's varsity and junior varsity fields.
Today's games are set for noon, 2 p.m., 4 p.m., 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. and eight games will be played that day.
Saturday's games are slated for 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m., 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Joining FCHS in the field are four-time reigning Western Valley District champion Halifax County, C.D. Hylton, Liberty Christian Academy (LCA), Colonial Forge, Jefferson Forest, Magna Vista, Stafford and Hidden Valley.
Today's match-up between FCHS and Colonial Forge is a rematch of last year's first-round Northwest Region tournament game won by Colonial Forge, 5-3.
