A Roanoke woman was killed Friday morning when her car ran off the roadway on Wirtz Road and struck several trees.
Sara Elizabeth Harrison, 25, was traveling east on Route 697 in a 2004 Ford Focus when the car crossed the center line, according to Trooper R.D. Conley.
Harrison overcorrected, and the car ran off the right side of the roadway and struck several trees, Conley said.
Harrison was pronounced dead at the scene, Conley said. She was wearing a seat belt.
Speed was a factor in the crash, he added.
The single-vehicle crash occurred about 8:50 a.m. Friday on Wirtz Road, about 450 feet east of Route 716 (Wilkerson Road). |
