The Franklin County Sheriff's Office is investigating the scene where two bodies were discovered inside a sport utility vehicle in Penhook Tuesday afternoon.
The two victims were dead of apparent gunshot wounds, according to Lt. Todd Maxey.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee was seen parked on the side of Ramsey Memorial Road by a motorist Monday night, just past the intersection of Snow Creek Road, Maxey said. The motorist called the sheriff's office when she spotted the vehicle in the same spot just before 3 p.m. Tuesday.
Investigators were waiting for a search warrant to open the SUV Tuesday at press time. The bodies had not been identified.
