The Franklin County Sheriff's Office found two runaway teenagers from Rocky Mount Monday afternoon in North Carolina.
Bailey Noel Turner, 15, and Benjamin Hadden Weir, 17, who had been missing since Friday morning, were located in Cape Hatteras, N.C., according to Lt. Todd Maxey.
The two teens, who are in a relationship, ran away together, Maxey said. After receiving a tip from a concerned citizen, the teens were picked up by the Dare County Sheriff's Office in North Carolina.
The local sheriff's office began the investigation Friday morning when Bailey's father reported her missing after he went into her room and she wasn't there, said Sgt. Phillip Young.
Deputies found no evidence of foul play or a struggle, Young said. Bailey's clothes and other personal belongings were missing from her room.
The teens have been reunited with their families, Maxey added. |
