FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- The 2013 USA South Athletic Conference men's basketball tournament begins Thursday at the Crown Center Arena with four quarterfinal games.
At 2 p.m., reigning league champion and No.1 tournament seed Christopher Newport University (CNU) faces No. 8 seed Averett University at 2 p.m.
At 4 p.m., No. 4 seed North Carolina Wesleyan College plays No. 5 seed Methodist (N.C.) University.
At 6 p.m., No. 2 seed Ferrum College is matched against No. 7 seed Maryville (Tenn.) College.
At 8 p.m., No. 3 seed Greensboro (N.C.) College takes on No. 6 seed LaGrange (Ga.) College.
Friday's semifinals pit the winner of the CNU-Averett game against the winner of the N.C. Wesleyan-Methodist game at 7 p.m. and the winner of the Ferrum-Maryville game against the winner of the Greensboro-LaGrange game at 9 p.m.
Saturday's championship game tips off at 5:30 p.m.
Piedmont (Ga.) College failed to earn a tournament berth. The college cancelled its 2012-13 season after seven games for a myriad of reasons; the Lions were 0-7 at the time.
The winner of the tournament receives the USA South's automatic berth in the NCAA Division III tournament.
