VIRGINIA BEACH -- Five players each scored one goal for Ferrum College Saturday in a 17-5 men's lacrosse setback to Virginia Wesleyan Colege.
Nick Pappas netted five goals and passed out four assists to lead the Marlins (1-0) to a victory in their season opener.
Josh Currier tallied three goals and distributed three assists.
For Ferrum (0-2), Dylan Burdick, Tyler Poage, Alex Rice, Daniel Batong and Nick Smith each scored one goal.
Ferrum returns to action Wednesday against Randolph College.
The match is the Panthers' home opener. It begins at 3 p.m. at W.B. Adams Stadium.
