A North Carolina man was killed Monday night when the tractor-trailer he was driving ran off Grassy Hill Road.
Frank Junior Gibbs, 64, of Reidsville, N.C., was traveling south on Grassy Hill Road in a 2000 Volvo tractor-trailer when the rig ran off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree, according to Sgt. Rob Carpentieri with the Virginia State Police.
Gibbs was wearing a seat belt. He was pronounced dead at the scene, Carpentieri said.
The fatality occurred about 10 p.m. Monday on Route 919, just south of Route 709 (Blue Bend Road). |
