A Glade Hill man has been charged with manufacturing marijuana after police raided a suspected growing operation on Glade Farms Drive Wednesday evening.
Luther Russell Collins, 45, was also charged with distributing more than five pounds of marijuana, according to Lt. Todd Maxey with the Franklin County Sheriff's Office.
When investigators executed a search warrant at Collins' residence, they seized an estimated $500,000 worth of plants and plant material, Maxey said.
A large quantity of packaged buds, 160 plants and equipment were discovered in three outbuildings near Collins' residence, Maxey said.
The estimated street value of the buds is nearly $30,000, Maxey said. The potential value of the plants is about $480,000.
Collins is also charged with threatening to burn a vehicle, which was unrelated to the marijuana operation, Maxey said.
Collins is being held in the Franklin County Jail without bond. |
