A Callaway man was charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute after police raided a suspected lab at a residence on Swenfield Road early Wednesday morning.
Frank Wendell Austin, 40, was also charged with possession of chemical ingredients used in the manufacture of methamphetamine, according to Lt. Todd Maxey with the Franklin County Sheriff's Office.
At the time of his arrest, Austin was on bond for three charges stemming from another methamphetamine lab raid at a residence on Walnut Street in Rocky Mount on Nov. 29, Maxey said.
When deputies and special agents with the Virginia State Police executed the search warrant Wednesday about 12:30 a.m., they seized equipment and chemicals used in the manufacture of methamphetamine from a detached garage at the Callaway residence, Maxey said. Deputies also seized a white, powdery substance believed to be methamphetamine.
Connie Marie Young, 43, of Rocky Mount was also charged with possession of a Schedule I or II drug (pills) as a result of the raid, Maxey said.
Austin is being held without bond in the Western Virginia Regional Jail. |
