A Rocky Mount man who fled police custody after being arrested Friday afternoon was apprehended Saturday and is being held without bond.
Steven Ray Dillon II, 26, was arrested Friday afternoon on charges of breaking and entering and grand larceny, according to Sgt. Phillip Young with the Franklin County Sheriff's Office.
After he was processed at the sheriff's office, Dillon fled on foot while he was being escorted to the Franklin County Jail for incarceration shortly after 5 p.m., according to Lt. Todd Maxey. Dillon ran up Maple Street, but deputies were unable to locate him.
On Saturday, investigators received a tip that Dillon was traveling to Rocky Mount in a vehicle with another subject, Young said.
Deputies and Rocky Mount police officers stopped the vehicle at 12:40 p.m. at the intersection of Bennett Lane and Old Franklin Turnpike, just east of the Rocky Mount town limit, Young said. Dillon was taken into custody without incident.
Dillon has also been charged with felony escape and is being held in the Franklin County Jail without bond, Young said.
