MINNEAPOLIS -- Ferrum College junior punter Wesley Franklin has been chosen to the 2012 d3football.com All-South Region football team, the website's eighth-annual postseason all-region squad.
Franklin, who hails from Morganton, N.C., is a a third-team selection on defense.
Franklin recently earned first team All-USA South Athletic Conference honors in a vote of the league's head coaches.
This season, Franklin finished fifth in th nation among Division III punters with a 41.5 yards-per-punt average.
Franklin placed 13 punts inside the 20 yard line. Eight of his punts traveled 50 or more yards. He finished 2.86 yards-per-punt in arrears to the national leader.
Franklin is the only Ferrum player selected to the squad. |
