We appreciate everyone who took part in the 2012 Franklin County Christmas Parade on Sunday, Dec. 2. We have had many compliments on the parade, and this is due to your help and your efforts. You make the parade and you are appreciated.
Everyone plays a part and without our workers, staff, law enforcement and all the participants, we could not have a parade.
Our thanks to you all, Allen Jones (Flowers by Jones), Harold Ingram (Haywood's Jewelry), Randy Sink (Flora Funeral Service), Richard Eggleton (Superior Retreading), Jon Snead (Franklin Finance), and Wayne Treadway (Virginia Office Supply), Tommy Self, Tom Gourley, Dawn Self (all of this office), Rocky Mount Police Department, Franklin County Sheriff's Office, and it was great of Santa Claus to take part.
We also want to thank The Franklin News-Post for keeping you aware of what is happening, along with our judges, town council, supervisors, American Legion, Del. Charles Poindexter, and everyone else who took part.
The parade is always the first Sunday afternoon in December at 3 p.m.
Santa Claus is coming back on the Dec. 15 and will be at the farmers' market to visit with the children and adults. So come by and tell him what you are hoping he can bring. With such a large area, he might not get all you want, but the will want to talk to you.
Again a very happy holiday season to all. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
