Mr. and Mrs. Earl W. LaPrade of Boones Mill announce the engagement of their daughter, Emily Carol, to D. Wesley Van Pelt, the son of David and Michele Van Pelt of Mount Crawford. The bride-elect is a graduate of Bridgewater College with a bachelor's degree in sociology and a current student at the University of Southern Mississippi pursuing her master's degree in child and family studies. She is employed at PlyGem Windows. The bridegroom-to-be is a graduate of Blue Ridge Community College with an associate's degree in math. He is employed at NAPA Transportation. The wedding is planned for May 18 at Antioch Church of the Brethren.
