RIDGEWAY -- Paced by a 22-7 fourth-quarter run, Franklin County defeated Magna Vista, 63-44, in a non-district boys' basketball contest Wednesday.

The Eagles (2-0) led by four points, 41-37, at the start of the fourth quarter.

Ethan Adams led FCHS with a game-best 13 points and Ray Witcher netted 12.

FCHS led 10-5 after the first quarter and by 11 points, 30-19, at intermission, after taking the second stanza 20-14.

Magna Vista (0-1), playing its season opener, rallied in the third quarter and won the period 18-11.

Adrian Hatfield led the Warriors with 12 points.

Six other players scored for Magna Vista, none of whom were in double figures.

Also scoring for the Eagles were Hakeem Alderman with eight points, Bradley Parcell, Max Harper, Troy Lambert, Josh Blankenship and Devin Clements each with five, Adonis Edwards with three and Fred Ponder with two.

Each team swished three 3-point field goals.

FCHS returns to action at home tonight against Bassett. Tip off at Samuel M. Hawkins-Central Gymnasium is 7.
