The Town of Rocky Mount has collected $983,497 during the first 10 months of this year, according to the finance department's October report.
That's up from the $913,116 meals tax collections during the same period of 2011.
The largest monthly amount of meals tax collected was in January with $106,760. The lowest amount was in February with $89,118 collected.
October meals tax collections totaled $96,938, up from the October 2011 collections of $94,896.
Meals tax collections in September totaled $94,971.
August collections totaled $106,556.
The town's meals tax continues to be the largest revenue producer for the town.
The finance department also reported that sales tax collections for the first 10 months of this year totaled $144,040.
That's up from the $133,936 sales tax collections for the same period of 2011.
The largest monthly amount of sales tax collections this year was $16,860 in October. The lowest amount of sales tax collected was $11,573 in March. |
