A meeting regarding health insurance for Dupont retirees is set for Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. to noon in the Franklin County High School auditorium.
Gloria Roberts, insurance counseling and assistance program coordinator for the Southern Area Agency on Aging, said Oct. 15 begins the period for Medicare open enrollment, and Dupont is dropping retiree health insurance.
"They (Dupont retirees) have to choose a plan this year because their group coverage has ended," she said.
Roberts will present options at the meeting and answer questions.
Open enrollment runs from Oct. 15 to Dec. 7.
Roberts' program area includes Franklin, Henry, Patrick and Pittsylvania counties, as well as the cities of Martinsville and Danville.
Other resources are available for information and to answer questions, she said. Dupont retirees can visit the website, extendhealth.com. Other Medicare recipients can visit the website, medicare.gov.
Anyone wanting more information can call 1-800-468-4571 or 276-632-6442.
