The 2012 Smith Mountain Lake Charity Home Tour begins today (Friday, Oct. 5) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The tours of eight lake homes will continue Saturday, Oct. 6 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 7 from 1 to 5 p.m.

This year's charities are Helping Hands of Franklin County, Southern Virginia Child Advocacy Center,
STEP (Support To Eliminate Poverty), Bedford House (Hospice Care), Bedford Pregnancy Center, CASA of Central Virginia, Lake Christian Ministries and SML Good Neighbors.
