The 26th annual Franklin County Classic marching band competition will be held Saturday, Oct. 6 at Franklin County High School, beginning at 3 p.m.
High School bands from around the region will compete and show off their fall field shows, said Denise Aspell, FCHS band director.
The Benjamin Franklin Middle School band will open the competition at 3 p.m. with the National Anthem.
Some of the bands scheduled to compete include Gretna, Magna Vista, George Wythe, Altavista, Tunstall, Appomattox County, Glenvar, Carroll County, Heritage, Fort Defiance, Bluestone, Pulaski, Park View, William Byrd and Salem.
The Franklin County High School Marching Eagle Band will perform an exhibition at 7:30 p.m.
The evening will end with awards being presented at 8 p.m.
A silent auction will take place, and concessions will be offered as well.
Tickets are $3 for children and $5 for adults.
