Construction in Franklin County increased in August, based on the number of building permits that were issued, compared to the same month in 2011.
A report by the county building inspections department shows that 91 building permits were issued in August, up from the 78 permits that were issued in August 2011.
The value of all building permits issued in August totaled $3,264,150, up from $2,983,832 in August 2011.
Five building permits were issued for new residential homes, according to the report.
Manufactured home permits (single and doublewide homes) totaled 12 in August, while building permits for additions and alterations totaled 22. Three permits were issues for accessory buildings.
A total of 693 inspections were conducted in August. Fees collected from all permits issued totaled $21,637
Inspectors drove a total of 6,530 miles in August to conduct construction inspections. |
