A Roanoke man and woman, who were indicted by a Franklin County grand jury in June on distribution of heroin charges, are still at large.
Phillip Andrew Hall, 46, and Gwendolyn Marie Barlow, 52, are wanted on felony distribution charges, according to Sgt. Tim Taylor with the Franklin County Sheriff's Office.
The two were indicted after a controlled buy of three bundles of heroin, worth about $600, at a predetermined location on Naff's Road in Boones Mill on March 28, Taylor said.
Deputies with the Special Investigations Unit observed the transaction and provided patrol officers with a description of the vehicle, Taylor said. The vehicle was stopped on U.S. 220 by the Virginia State Police, but the subjects were not arrested at that time.
Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Hall and Barlow is asked to contact the sheriff's office at 483-3000 or the anonymous crimeline at 483-6620.
Since January, the Special Investigations Unit has produced more than 100 felony drug cases, Taylor said.
An indictment is not a finding of guilt. It is a determination by jurors that enough evidence exists to warrant a trial.
