A Hardy man was killed early Sunday morning on Truman Hill Road when his pickup truck struck several trees.
Carl Jacob Hinkle, 26, was traveling north on Route 679 in a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado when the truck ran off the left side of the roadway, according to Sgt. Rob Carpentieri with the Virginia State Police.
Hinkle overcorrected and the pickup truck ran off the right side of the roadway and struck several trees, Carpentieri added.
Hinkle, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene, Carpentieri said.
The crash occurred just after midnight Sunday on Truman Hill Road (Route 679), just north of Edwardsville Road (Route 680) in Hardy.
Trooper J.R. Whitaker is in charge of the investigation. |
