The Franklin County Library is hosting a show of paintings by Mary E. "Polly" Way from now until Aug. 15.
Way, who died last October, was a resident of Franklin County for over 30 years. She and her husband, Don, lived at Smith Mountain Lake for 20 years before moving to Boones Mill to be near their daughter Anne (Steve) Bernard for the last 12 years of her life.
During that time, she was involved in volunteer work at Franklin Memorial Hospital and loved to visit local the library.
She was a student in her daughter's art class for many years. Her daughter selected the works on display as a sample of the many kinds of subject matter Way tackled in her art over the years.
These framed paintings are for sale as a benefit to the library. |
